GM Recall Information

Recall Remedie

A recall occurs when the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) or a vehicle manufacturer determines that a vehicle, tire, car seat, or equipment poses a significant safety hazard or does not meet minimum safety requirements.

We know that recalls can be unsettling to Tallahassee drivers like you, but we want to ensure you stay updated on all the latest GM information and know what to do if your vehicle is part of a recall. While we hope that never happens, you can rely on our certified service center to have you back on Marianna roads in no time. Learn how to determine if your vehicle is under recall and what you can expect from the repair process with Bill Cramer Chevrolet below.

How to Find Out if Your GM Vehicle is Under Recall

Within 60 days of a recall announcement, GM will notify you in writing if your vehicle is affected by a recall. However, there may still be a possibility that your vehicle is involved in a recall even if you didn’t receive a letter.

To determine if your vehicle is under recall, simply enter your VIN (vehicle identification number) into the tool on the GM website. Your VIN is 17 characters long and can be located on either the driver’s side dashboard, the bottom of the windshield, or the driver’s-side door jamb. You can also find your VIN on your state vehicle registration and vehicle insurance.

After submitting your VIN, GM will notify you of any recall repairs that your vehicle needs. You will need to bring your vehicle to a GM dealership where it will be repaired free of charge.
