Pickup trucks are expected to deliver plenty of power, and Chevrolet knows that they don’t have to burn a lot of fuel in the process. That’s why they’ve equipped the Colorado with several robust engine options to combine impressive towing ability with responsible fuel efficiency. The compact yet capable Colorado is easy to maneuver on city streets as well as off the beaten path, and it can be outfitted with a variety of technology options to stay safe and connected on any ride.
If you would like to see what the Colorado is truly capable of, you can try it out for yourself here at Bill Cramer Chevrolet Buick GMC. You’re welcome to visit our dealership to test drive this pickup truck and learn more about its abilities and features.
For the 2020 model year, Chevy has equipped the Colorado with an Infotainment 3 system complete with Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth®* as standard connectivity features. The infotainment system is user-friendly and convenient, within easy reach from the driver’s seat. Other available tech features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, Bose sound, navigation, and wireless device charging.
Available safety features include lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and more. The standard Teen Driver system allows inexperienced drivers to learn safe road behaviors with programmable speed and volume settings. The 2020 Teen Driver also comes with a reminder that requires the driver to buckle up before heading out.
The Colorado offers three potent engine options, with the standard model running on a 200-horsepower 4-cylinder. Chevrolet also offers an available 308-horsepower V6 for even more work truck muscle. If you want to maximize towing capacity while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency, consider the optional 181-horsepower turbodiesel that delivers 369 pound-feet of torque. When optimized for the job, the Colorado can tow up to 7,700 pounds and haul 1,578 pounds.
Even with all its power under the hood, the truck still provides a steady ride, and handling is compliant on busy highways and tight parking lots. If you want to head away from the pavement, the Z71 and ZR2 trims come with durable off-roading tools like locking differentials and heavy-duty suspension.
On the inside, the Colorado promises a smooth ride for the everyday commute as well as longer trips. The truck’s cab configuration determines its seating capacity, with room for two passengers in the base, four in the Extended Cab, and five in the Crew Cab. The truck’s interior is understated and durable, and you can explore the trim range to customize it with leather-accented front seats, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, and more. Models with rear seats can accommodate young children with two full sets of LATCH car seat connections.
Chevrolet introduced the Colorado in 2004 to replace the S-10 as their well-rounded compact truck. Taking notes from the full-sized Silverado, the Colorado was noticeably larger than the long-running S-10 and arrived with a capable engine and variety of cab styles. Class-shaking power has always been a priority in the Colorado’s design, and the truck received a game-changing V8 engine in 2009. This powerhouse delivered a brawny 300 horsepower that equipped the compact pickup with serious work truck potential.
In 2012, the Colorado began a brief hiatus, but driver demand prompted its triumphant return in 2015. When the redesigned pickup reached U.S. roadways, drivers and critics were impressed with its updated powertrain options and remarkable maneuverability.
